Cute new addition to Orana Park in Christchurch
Blue penguins at the Antarctic Center in Christchurch.
We arrived in time to watch the vet and keepers trimming the beaks. In the wild penguins maintain their beaks by rubbing them down on rocks etc. However, in captivity the keepers have to step in and help the natural process along so that the penguins can continue to eat.
